At Kumon, you are both the business owner of your own franchise and the Kumon Instructor . You have to manage the day-to-day business operations and work with Kumon students

Upon successful selection, you will be required to attend a 5 week ‘Global New Instructor Training’ programme at our office in Delhi/Gurugram. During the training period, you will be given an in-depth understanding of the Kumon Method, curriculum and learning materials, Instruction principles, Student assessment and enrolment, Effective implementation of study programmes, Communication with parents and students, Centre administration and management strategies along with various policies and prodecures . You will also be required to take part in ‘Follow Up Training’ sessions and various seminars to refine your skills and further enhance your success.

The opening of new Centres is directly linked to the realisation of Kumon’s vision. We aim to give as many students as possible the opportunity to learn using our materials, and thus, contribute to the global community. We have a list of potential locations already identified from which you can choose one. If the area you are looking for is not mentioned in the list then you can suggest the locations which our market research team would then check and analyse it’s feasibility. For us it is important that we suggest a location which offers business sustainability for both the existing and new franchisee.

Yes, all Kumon Franchise Instructors must offer both Maths and English programmes at their Kumon Centre.

While that can prove quite valuable, it is certainly not a requirement to become a Kumon Franchise owner. Many of our current Kumon Franchise Instructors come from various fields like Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, Scientists etc.

No, it is critical to the success of Kumon and to your franchise that you remain directly involved in the day-to-day operations of your individual Centre. You may hire assistants to help you operate the Centre. However, you need to always remain the “face” of Kumon to prospective and existing students and parents.
